Health & Safety

Within the fire service as a whole, and within the fabric of it’s work, Health and Safety is key and central, and is practised and well as preached in the day to day management of the service. It extends beyond members on the front line of fire fighting, and is concerned also with the health and safety of members in control rooms, offices and for non-operational members. The remit of this work is derived from the Health, Safety and Welfare at work Act 1974 and the Safety Reps, Safety Committee Regulations 1977.
